Designing a CP Program that's Tailored to Your Needs

Each copy of the Citizen Participation Handbook is supplemented by our Needs-Assessment Worksheets.  The Worksheets truly are the vehicle for assessing your CP Needs -- on your project -- the specific needs that your CP Program has to meet to earn the relevant public's Informed Consent.

The 15 Worksheets consist of 200+ leading. . . probing. . . difficult questions.  These questions -- actually, your answers to them -- enable you to identify your project's CP Needs.  They also help you write the detailed instructions on how to go about those  achieving needs.

Using our Worksheets is a little tedious.  But it does lead to a FUNDAMENTALLY different approach to involving your publics. . .  an approach that does NOT do CP for the sake of CP . . . rather approach that has you do CP for the sake of creating a truly INFORMED public.  After all,

  • if  your organization is LEGITIMATE, and

  • if your team is addressing a SERIOUS problem or opportunity,

  • one that is within your team's MISSION and DUTY to address, and

  • if your proposal, i.e. your solution, truly HAS merit,

then, all you really need is an INFORMED PUBLIC . . . but one that is REALLY informed! . . . The Worksheets get you from where you are with your publics right now to and where you need to be with them.
